Yoga & Videos
`As we emerge from what has been an extraordinary twelve months, we find oursevles heading back to some sort of normality, but we cannot deny that things have shifted. Our reality has slightly changed, and we have slightly changed. Change can be exciting bringing new hope and new beginnings, but adapting to change can also be scary. Our mental health and wellbeing is at the forefront of everything we look at or listen to at the moment. We are constantly being reminded that our mental wellbeing will have been significantly afftected by the pandemic, but the extent of this affect may be hard to measure.
Yoga, not just as an exercise but as an all encompassing lifestyle, can be a gentle and beautiful way to help support our mental health.
What can yoga help with? Anxiety and depression; healing past trauma, physical aches and pains, and many more.
What does practicing yoga really mean?
It is simple, arrive at the class in comfortable clothing and with a mat! The rest you will be guided through.
A class will involve checking in with the body, mindfully focusing on the breath and how we feel in that moment. The class then moves on to movement, stretching and trying out different poses some of which can be very wierd. The class then ends with a ten minute relaxation, lying on the floor, allowing the body to process the movement it has done, and then fully let go.
There will be breathing, there will be stretching, there may be tears, groans and often laughter - all of it is ok!
20 minute Winter Warmer
Its very easy to feel the cold creeping in when we sit still for too long at this time of year. If you start to feel the chill whilst you’re sat at your desk, or reluctant to get out of bed in the morning to face the frost, take 20 minutes to move, stretch and warm yourself up.
